The Smile of God/The Smile of A Child
For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm. A song. May God be gracious to us and bless us and make his face shine on us--Psalm 67:1 NIV
Recently I held a small baby in worship, and as I presented him to the congregation the baby smiled at the entire congregation. Needless to say that this smile of unconditional love from a baby melted the hearts of the entire body assembled in worship that morning.
As I carried the smiling baby back to his mother I began to feel that I had just witnessed what the love of God must me like. Does God smile? Psalm 67:1 tells us that God is gracious and that God blesses us and that his face shines upon us. Additionally, we were made in God's image meaning that if we smile, God surely has to smile, and if we weep God must surely weep.
My prayer for you this week is that you smile at somebody with the innocence of a child, and may that smile be done unconditionally. Beloved in this world that we live live in, we truly need more smiles and need to truly love others as to be the Body of Christ that smiles upon the world in His name.
This Is The Smile That God Has Made!
