Isaiah 42:9 ESV
Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I
now declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old
has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Recently I heard a new terminology in reference to ministers as well as churches. The terminology is called Hybrid Preachers and Hybrid Churches. Basically this is referring to the introduction of new things to old things as to invent a new thing.
Many call this type of church a fusion of old and new, traditional and contemporary in regards to ministry as well as being church. The call for today's ministers is to provide the ministry tools in which fusion can occur, while keeping a congregation linked in common worship and relationship.
The same goes for congregations in the fact they must be willing to make changes and be able to receive the fusion that God is placing in their midst and in their ministry. The task at hand is not the newness, but rather the willingness to accept the newness into the old as to create a place and ministry of wellness and acceptance.
Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was a radical teacher and may I say, "God's hybrid presence" to his people as to link Jew and Gentile into relationship, ministry, and praise. Jesus is the link between the Old and the New Testaments as to tell the whole story and be a complete book and complete people. Jesus the Fusion Savior, met with, lived with, and associated with those that culture often deemed unworthy of relationship.
Today's culture and people often feel out of place in church as well as unwelcome, some may also say that the old style of worship even bores them, those that are a culture that desire instant gratification. For us to be the true Church that He desires, we must also be radical and be prepared for an "Infusion" of new things in our relationship with God and with His people.
My prayer for you this day is that you be prepared to change, be prepared to welcome, be prepared to receive a Holy Spirit infusion from God to His people.
