One Step Away From A Miracle
While you stretch out your hand to heal, and
signs and wonders are performed through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
As I sit in my office at
church today, I have been busy, being busy. Whether it is trying to prepare for
a new church photo directory, or sitting here as the repairmen work on the
church air conditioning system. So many things in my mind are racing telling me
to keep busy, and that as a good pastor you must do this and accomplish that.
Just as these thoughts occurred
to me, it began to thunder and rain outside. As I listened to the storm I
looked at a movie that a church member dropped off for me to view. The movie is
called Miracles from Heaven. The movie deals with a very sick child and her
family, church and care givers. Yes, this is not only a feel good story, but it
is much, much more.
Beloved, in these days
of political elections, world violence, and ever unceasing tragic events, God
wants us to slow down and be present with him. The message for all of us today
is that we can still expect and celebrate the miracles of God, because God is
still in the miracle business.
The miracles of God can
be small and can be vast, but also the miracles of God can be interconnected.
The smallest and the largest miracles begin with a loving God, and are
interconnected with His people (The Body of Christ).
Maybe the miracle is
helping the person in front of you pay a bill when they find themselves short.
Maybe the miracle is being an intercessory for someone in need, and maybe the
miracle is falling to your knees in prayer for another.
My friends, God presents
us with opportunities on a daily basis to be involved with His miracles, we
just need to surrender ourselves to the opportunity. In the movie I watched
today, I truly witnessed how God works through many to make miracles occur.
When we jump on board as miracle intercessors, we not only see our role, we see
the miracles of God take place first hand.
I bring you the good
news that even in these difficult times, miracles are alive and well. Miracles
are alive and well because our Savior Jesus Christ is alive, active and at work
this very moment in this world. My prayer for you today is that you back away
from the busy work for a bit and concentrate on your role as God’s miracle helpers.
The rain will end, the
church air conditioners will be fixed and the meetings and visits can wait. You
are just one step or one action away from a miracle occurring. Stretch out your
hands and prepare to see the wonders of Jesus Christ, you will be glad that you
did.
This is the day that the
Lord has made, and this is the day that miracles can and will happen.
