Monday morning is here, the alarm clock has gone off and it is time to start the work week, the school week and just life in general. As we contemplate our Monday and as we look forward or look with dread to what this day and week will bring, what is our key to Monday survival?
Often the first thing that I firmly grasp to on Monday mornings is a large cup of steaming coffee, which I would dare anybody to take from my grasp. Many of us grab the first things which bring us comfort such as coffee, and soda which will bring us the caffeine buzz that we need to move Monday forward.
While holding on to that security blanket caffeinated beverage, I ask that you take this opportunity to grasp upon the message that your preacher gave yesterday. One of our goals as those that preach God's word is to supply our flocks with the strength that they need to take on the week, until we can gather again.
What part of your preachers sermon did you hang onto, what do you remember while in your Monday morning haze? Yesterday I advised my flock that they are a people that wear the mark and seal of Jesus Christ, and they must remember who they belong too in their 24 x 7 lives.
My prayer for you all this Monday and this week is that you grasp onto the word of God that your preachers spoke yesterday as hard as you grasp onto that caffeinated beverage.We go forth in the knowledge that God's word is everlasting and given for our relationship and our salvation, this has the strength to endure longer than the Mocha Late that we are firmly grasping onto.
Your pastor worked very hard in prayer, and meditation as to bring you God's word for your lives, let it ring true with your Monday and week, rather than just the hour you are in church. Finally remember that even on Monday morning's you still wear the mark and seal of one who has been redeemed through the sacrificial blood of Christ.
Hold on tight and go forward grasping a cup full of warm energy giving and strengthening Jesus Christ love and grace and endurance.
